Really?! You too? I thought I was all alone!
Well, if you like pizza and beer then I might have just the thing for you. Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza in White Plains and Harpoon Brewery are teaming up to host a craft beer tasting event on Tuesday, July 31st, at 7 pm. Anthony’s uses coal fired ovens (duh) which cook at 800° and produce no smoke for, what is supposed to be, an incredibly clean taste. Reviews I’ve read compare it favorably with Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn and John’s in Manhattan. In the pizza world that is not faint praise. Their ribs and wings get raves as well. All of which is good news as it’s exactly these items that Harpoon will be pairing with a variety of beers. The line up is as follow:
- Harpoon Seasonal paired with Fresh Mozzarella & Tomato Salad and Anthony’s Classic Italian Salad
- Leviathan Great Scott Wee Heavy paired with Coal Oven Roasted Chicken Wings
- Dan’s Rye IPA paired with Pork Ribs and Vinegar Peppers
- IPA paired with Meatballs & Ricotta “Well Done” Pizza and Fresh Mozzarella, Sliced Tomato & Basil
The cost will be $30 per person and reservations should be made in advance. I genuinely cannot see how this can be a bad thing……
